Application commercialization involves the following steps:
Step 1
An application must pass TRUE BREW® compatibility testing before a developer can distribute their application to an Operator that participates in the Standard BREW program. Operators evaluate all applications distributed to them for inclusion on their commercial application catalog. For more information on the testing process, TRUE BREW Testing, testing support, how to handle BREW Extensions and all the steps in each step, then please click here.
Step 2
Qualcomm operator partners have access to all applications that have earned the TRUE BREW® Tested designation. Before any BREW® application can be made available for purchase, the developer must have an established business relationship with Qualcomm. Authenticated BREW developers are provided with the tools and interfaces to price applications with operator services.
To manage your applications (i.e. setting price terms), please visit the Application Management
page. For more information on Application Management, click here.
Use this section to edit, create and delete contact information for your company and you can also request changes to user accounts for your company. If you are having issues with accessing the Developer Extranet, please refer to the Developer Extranet Access FAQs.
Step 3
Application requirements and guidelines can differ from operator to operator. You are encouraged to check with individual operators regarding their guidelines for wireless applications. Visit the Operator Guidelines
page for more information on each operator's guidelines.
Once the application is submitted to the operator catalogs, each operator evaluates and accepts the applications they want to offer to consumers after successful testing.
Step 4
After the application is accepted by the operator and made available on the operators catalog, it is then available for consumers to purchase. Consumers select the applications to purchase and download those applications to their BREW devices.
BREW® Developers can access a variety of reports about their applications as they are accepted by operators and downloaded by users. Detailed reports provide information about overall usage, adoption by operator, invoice reconciliation and more. Item Activity Status shows which applications are available on a specific operator's production system.
